The large open space is where you will find live music, demonstrations, game shows and more. Throughout the day and night, Royal Caribbean hosts events at the base of the Centrum. Park Cafe is also a great alternative to the Windjammer on embarkation day because it will be far less crowded. There is plenty of good food onboard Vision of the Seas, but a great spot for complimentary food throughout the day is Park Cafe. NIGHTS DONE PROPERLY
While the cruise line is known for some of the largest ships on the ocean today, Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas is mid-sized, holding 2,050 passengers at double occupancy. Passengers seeking some of the bigger attractions found on the larger ships -- such as the Flowrider, water slides, skating rinks and the like -- won't find them on Vision. Vision of the Seas, part of Royal Caribbean's Vision-class of ships, is known for its stunning glass exterior -- more than 2 acres of glass were incorporated in its construction back when it launched in 1998. Nowhere is this more breathtaking than in the ship's Centrum, which spans five decks. No matter where you wander, it’s full of ways to make memories in between onshore adventures — like Broadway-style shows, dining that always hits the spot, and activities that make every moment onboard wow-worthy.

Following the Coronavirus crisis, for summer 2021 RCI scheduled for Vision OTS Bahamas cruises leaving from Bermuda. The 7-day itinerary (roundtrip from Kings Wharf) had 2 seadays (before visiting CocoCay Bahamas/port stay 8 AM - 5 PM) followed by 2 more seadays (before the arrival in Bermuda).
Fellow Passengers
There will be nightly entertainment around the ship, so be sure to read about what is offered in your Cruise Compass. The ship will offer an overnight stay in Bermuda, which means the ship acts like a floating hotel, where you can come and go as you please to provide plenty of time to enjoy everything Bermuda has to offer. Just for summer 2021 cruises, Vision of the Seas will not only sail from Bermuda, but also offer guests an overnight to explore Bermuda’s culture, history and cuisine. If you plan on eating at more than 1 or 2 specialty restaurants while on Vision of the Seas, you probably should invest in a dining package. Because while this ship lacks “things,” it more than makes up for it in “people” – committed, passionate and engaged people who will truly go out of their way to make your cruise a pleasure. The Vision of the Seas is a small ship with a big heart – and if you can do without a Flow Rider, a North Star, an ice rink and bumper cars – even without a basketball court – you will have a fabulous time. SPECIAL NEEDS
For summer 2021 (June 26 thru August 28) Vision OTS operated Bahamas roundtrips from Bermuda. The 7-day itinerary (roundtrip from Kings Wharf/first-time for RCI) had scheduled 2 seadays (before visiting CocoCay Bahamas) followed by 2 more seadays (before the arrival in Bermuda). Vision OTS offers a traditional main dining room - The Aquarius, which is a 2-tier venue spanning Decks 4 and 5 and made elegant by enormous windows and grand staircase. During the 2013 refurb, it received minor decorative touches, new carpeting and Chef's Table. Passengers can book the intimate space for $95 per person and indulge in a wine-paired dinner hosted by the ship's executive chef and sommelier.
The Centrum – also known as the Vision of the Seas atrium – is the heart of the action during the evening. It has a similar concept to the Promenade on other Royal Caribbean ships, with passengers filling its shops, bars, lounges and entertainment venues. Vision of the Seas rooms directly below it (Deck 3) may be subject to noise. The liveliest space during the day is often Deck 9, home to the ship’s two pools and the Windjammer buffet.
There’s a great big world out there full of new places to explore, and Vision of the Seas® is the perfect ship to see it from. Wherever you wander, it’s full of ways to make memories in between onshore adventures – like West End-style shows, dining that always hits the spot and activities that make every moment onboard wow-worthy. Royal Caribbean not only builds their ships to have a wow factor, but they also make their itineraries just as appealing.
During school breaks and summer, expect typical "spring breaker" crowds, including lots of college students and school-aged kids. A ship that is more than two decades old is bound to show some wear and tear. While it received some minor upgrades in 2017 and 2022, Vision of the Seas had its most recent major refurbishment in 2013. We saw some discoloration on cabin walls and well-worn carpeting and furniture. However, most of the public areas seemed clean, comfortable and well-maintained, and the glass gave the ship a bright glow throughout. Vision of the Seas also offers 5-night itineraries to Bermuda, 9-night cruises to Canada and New England, and longer trips of up to 12 nights to the Southern Caribbean.
As you embark on Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas you are instantly transported to another place - a place where your concerns, cares and worries are whisked away. Onboard you will experience amazing service, immaculate surroundings and exciting features. The ship has 8 bars and lounges, a casino and nightly shows in the Main Theater. The ship also has an extensive program for children and an expanded teen-hangout area. For an extra special event, check out Vision of the Seas’ jumbo movie screen on the pool deck where you can enjoy a spectacular movie with the wind in your hair.
Two twin beds that convert to a Royal King size bed, vanity area, and a private bathroom. After boarding the liner, you enter the Centrum - the majestic forward Atrium (7-decks high midship open-floor designed space). At the bottom of the Centrum is located the Champagne Terrace - the relaxation venue decorated with marble, brass, real grass, live palm trees. At the top of it, at Deck 11, is the Viking Crown Lounge - one of the Royal Caribbean's signatures. The Viking Lounge is the perfect place to watch scenery during your always special RCI voyages. The Vision's interior design boasts a huge amount of glass and lots of open spaces.
